up to no good

Last week, we received some packages in the mail.  One of them was from Aunt Brandi...and she LOVES using packing peanuts in all her packages.  Not only do the kids love what she sent them for Christmas, but they had a ball playing in the boxes and with the packing peanuts.  It didn't take long to get tracked all thru the house.  When Brooke got home from work, he pulled out the shop vac and had it all cleaned up in no time....what a guy!

Out next surprise came Christmas Eve when we woke up to snow on the ground.  The kids had a great time playing in it.  Little bits have stuck around until now, and then today it decided to snow some more. I think it is our 5th or 6th snow fall this winter.

Grace had fun eating the snow...just the white stuff though, no yellow for her!

We enjoyed our Christmas and hope you did too!

too cute and too much sugar

Here are the kiddos on Sunday before church.

I think they may need to focus more on their brushing habits...

Rock on

We bought a new toy.  Rock Band.  It is TOTALLY AWESOME!  Jake likes the drums...so do I, so we usually fight over them (just kidding, i just never let him play them) and Brooke is a rock star on the Guitar and Gracie is a rocker in training.  We have always been fans of Guitar Hero, so it was a natural progression for us to get Rock Band.  We actually got Beatles Rock Band and it is so much fun cause you know all the songs.  Here is some of our fun from the other night....

A little blurry, but i couldn't resist.

Does anyone remember Jakes "Blue Steel" shot from last december?

Well, here is this years Blue Steel shot.

in the playroom

I followed the kids into the playroom this afternoon and took a few pictures of them.

Grace was snacking on some Kix....a new favorite for her

Then she took off her socks.....

...and tried to put them back on.

I think this is a new favorite game for her.  In fact, earlier today, she went under the table where i was sitting, took off MY socks and tried to put them on HER feet.

Back to the playroom, while all this was going on, Jake was in the corner pouting (or trying to pout). After taking a few pictures of him, he asked if i got a picture of his mad face.  yes jake i did and here it is...

well, trying to look mad

but really, he is happy.

Are you wondering why he was pouting in the corner?  Well, Grace drank the rest of his hot chocolate and I wouldn't make him more.  i know, i am mean.  don't worry, i'll make him some more tonight.  I can understand why this made him pouty...it is pretty good hot chocolate.  If you are looking for a delicious hot treat, i highly recommend this one...

We like it!

my helpers

Jake and Grace were great helpers when I was making Thanksgiving day preparations.  I handed them a dirty beater, and they cleaned it right away!

Later that night, I pulled the table out to add the leaf and Grace found a new toy.  Under the table was a bar that the leaf usually rests on, and it became her new acrobatic bar.  She was very sad the next day when I put the table back to its normal size and she could no longer swing on the bar.

On Thanksgiving we had some friends over and they had a daughter about Jakes age.  They played so well together and had such a fun time.  Here they are having a little picnic outside.

We had a fabulous Thanksgiving!  Good food, good friends and lots of fun!
