a project and a package

This week we have been working on getting the play set assembled that my parents gave us for Christmas. Since Tuesday it has been in the 60's (LOVING IT!!) so it was the perfect time to tackle the project.  I have been doing what i can on my own until Brooke had a day to help. He  was home all day today and we got most of it done.  It just goes to show you what some brains and brawn will do in moving things along!  I'll post some pictures of it in all it's glory when everything is done.  But in the meantime, here is a before shot and some of the kids playing in the yard.

As for the package...today we had a nice surprise waiting on our doorstep...a package from Aunt Brandi.  She mailed the kids some cookies and they went bonkers for them.  She knows her niece and nephew all too well.  Thanks Brandi!

Our 4th bedroom serves as a play/guest room.   Since we only have guests show up every once in a while, we just lean the bed up to the side of the room so the kids have more space to play.  On Saturday, Brooke got Jake to go on top of the mattresses and it became a new favorite pass time for both the kids.

kicking and screaming

I recently signed up Jake to play soccer.  The season doesn't start until mid-march, but the weather was so nice on Saturday he got all his gear on to practice a bit.

Every few minutes he had to stop to get a drink...he likes to stay hydrated.

Grace even got in on the action.

Yesterday i got in the mood to do some spring cleaning.  As soon as the kids saw the cushions come off the couch, they started jumping and running around the whole room.  Brooke and I had fun standing back and watching them.

grace

Saturday night, we got a treat at DQ.  Brooke got Gracie this chocolate dipped cone and she LOVED it.

And today as i walked thru the kitchen, this is what i found.  Grace in her play stroller, starring out the window with her scooby ball.  she loves scooby.

oh how we love this little girl!

dress up

Today Grace wanted to dress up a bit and Jake wanted to be in the picture with her.

Then, they wanted to put on the new t-shirts we made this week.  They both LOVE the last 10 minutes of Ghostbusters.  They re-inact the whole thing and the marshmallow man is their favorite.  We have seen some Ghostbuster shirts in the store, but never in small enough sizes.  So, I bought some t's at Walmart, made an iron on of their choice and presto...new favorite shirts!

Here is Gracies Marshmallow Man impression

and his slimer

I don't know what this is.

Then Wrestle Mania began...

and Gracie wins!!

slacker

One month...really!?!  I don't know why i have been in a blogging rut, but i have.  So, here are a few pictures of the kiddos for those of you (i won't name names....BRANDI) who have voiced your displeasure at the lack of recent pictures.

pardon the poorly matched boots.  This girl is opinionated about her footwear.  She knows what she wants to wear and there is no changing her mind about it.  I can put shoes on her as we are getting ready to leave the house and she will go find the shoes that SHE wants to wear and put them on instead.

Jake is sick and I think Gracie is getting sick too.  Poor kids.
