1 year pics...a little late

It has taken me a couple months to take Gracies 1 year pictures. So i guess these are her 13month 3 week old pictures. Yes I am a procrastinator. Saturday was a beautiful day, so we went took lunch to a park. I went and snapped some shots of Grace and then we joined the guys on the play ground. While I was taking pictures of Grace, all she wanted to do was look at the grass, leaves and sticks on the ground. So, I got alot of shots of the top of her head.

And she was done.......

Jake was glad to see her.

She had a blast on the slide.

We had a great day!

at the pool

Today we decided to try out the pool on base.  We met some friends there and had a great time.

Grace loved playing in the water and also found other things to occupy her.  She managed to find the only bit of dirt in the kiddy area.

She climbed on as many chairs as she could.

Jake played in the pool with friends and can't wait to go back again.  We are so glad that summer is here to stay.

Lucky Charmies

Yesterday Jake asked me if we could go get some Lucky Charmies.  This was my favorite cereal when I was growing up, so of course I said yes (plus it is hard to resist his sweet face).  When we went to the store to get them, he found them on the shelf and insisted on carrying them thru the store.  He put it on the conveyer belt when we went to check out and promptly asked the cashier for it after it was scanned in.  He parted with it when we were walking thru the parking lot so he could hang on to the cart, but asked for the box once again when we got in the car.  When we got home, he put them away in the cupboard.  After he finished his dinner, he asked if he could have some of his Lucky Charmies.  I poured him a small bowl and for the rest of the night he was thanking me for his Lucky Charmies and telling me that he "really really really really really really liked them".

Grace loves to climb up on our little footstool.  She will climb up on it, then onto the couch and crawl across the couch to where we are.  She does pretty good and hasn't fallen yet, but it makes me so nervous!  Here she is in action.

LONG overdue

We are back.  Monday we got back from a 2 week vacation back home in Washington.  It was beautiful and we had such a good time seeing friends and family.  Brooke and I took advantage of Grandparents willing to babysit and went out to 3 different movies.  We shopped, ate and pretty much kicked back and enjoyed it.  The kids both got ear infections and were sick the first part of our trip and then Brooke and I got sick at the end.  We still managed to squeeze in lots of fun.  Here are a few pictures of the fun we had.

I had a birthday while we were there and Brooke totally spoiled me.  He bought me this new camera and I am having so much fun with it.  I have lots to learn though.  That night he took me out to The Melting Pot for dinner.  We ate so much and had a great time together.  It was very odd being out without our kids.

Gracie is alot more adventurous the Jake ever was.  We have to keep and eye on her!

Jake wanted to "workout" with his dad one afternoon.
We went to Brandi's new house for a bbq.  It is a great house and we all had fun....especially Grace trying to climb up the roof.

We are already looking forward to when we get to go back home again.

I don't like dogs...

Today was a beautiful day outside.  Mid 60's with a few clouds in the sky and a nice breeze.  We didn't really have anything going on, so we decided to have a picnic in the park.  Lunch was good and then the kids had fun on the playground.  Brooke went to put together a kite at the picnic table and then i decided to go to some nearby trees and take a few photos of Grace.  I had just set her down and was about to get the camera out when I heard this loud screaming.  I noticed that some dogs that had been playing across the park were now running our way.  I looked over to the playground and saw Jake with a panic stricken face, running toward me faster than I have EVER seen him run.  I hurried and picked up Grace and we went to save Jake.  The poor guy was so scared.  We went over to the picnic table and he would not leave the cement slab or go anywhere near the playground for fear of the dogs returning.  He kept telling us that he didn't like dogs.  So, that was the end of our afternoon at the park.
