2 months

I've been wanting to post some more pictures for a while, but i didn't get a chance to take any until today...so sorry to all those anxious to see updated pictures of Grace.  She had her 2 month check-up on Monday and she is a healthy GROWING girl.  She weighed in at 11 lbs. 9 oz. and is almost 24" long.  She is a happy little baby and it doesn't take much to get her to flash her gummy grin at you.  Jake continues to be a fabulous big brother, always giving her kisses and helping me when he can.  We are very blessed!!  I couldn't decide which pictures to post, so i did all my favorites.  I think she gets cuter every day.

Things are going good with Jake as well.  He is doing great with his potty training and seems so much older all the sudden.  only 1 month until he turns 3...how time flies!  I'm sure one day he won't appreciate this next picture, but i thought it was too funny.

A couple weeks ago i made some cinnamon rolls and Jake volunteered to clean the beaters after i made the frosting.  Like I said...always willing to help. :)

oh so hap-pee

This week we have been sticking around the house.  Monday Jake wasn't feeling very good, so he rested on the couch most of the day.  Tuesday he was feeling much better, so i decided there was no time like the present to begin tackling the task of...POTTY TRAINING.  Day 1 proved to be quite messy.  4 wet messes to clean up.  Jake didn't like this new feeling of going pee in his new underwear, so we spent most of the afternoon (at his request) sitting in the bathroom, him on the toilet, me on a chair.  We talked and sang songs.  The most requested song...Smoke on the Water by Deep Purple (Thankyou Guitar Hero!).  So, Day 1 ended and i was wondering how long i would be cleaning up these messes.  Day 2.  One accident in the morning, but this one was on the tile floor, so not that much of a biggie.  After his nap, he told me he had to go pee.  Off we went to the bathroom.  i didn't get my hopes up because this was nothing new.  But, this time when he sat on the toilet, he did it!  I was so excited...probably more excited than him.  This morning, success again and just before his nap, he went pee and poop.  I know he may have a few slip ups, but i am glad to be on my way to having a potty trained toddler.

And here are a few new shots of Gracie.  She is getting big, we think around 11 lbs.  It is fun to get her dressed up and looking cute.  She is also smiling more, which is so fun.  She is still a good baby and we are having a great time with her.

The other day Jake was being so helpful, I thought I would snap a few photos.  He is always ready and willing to run little things we give him to the garbage.
When it is cleaning day, he likes to follow me around and help where he can.  Cleaning the toilet is his favorite.  I'm sure this will eventually wear off and i will think back to the time when he was eager to help.

He is always wanting to help in the kitchen, stirring things or just watching me get things ready for dinner.

what a blessing!

This last Sunday, Grace was blessed in Church.  We has some visitors who came for the occasion...both sets of Grandparents, Aunt Brandi, Uncle Justin and Aunt Becky.  It was a fun weekend and great to have family around.  We took a few pictures with everybody outside the church, but we used my parents camera and I won't get those pictures for about a week.  But, here are a couple pictures of Grace in her beautiful dress ( a big shout out to Grandma Jackson for making it.  I can be kindof fussy and i think it turned out perfect...i LOVE it) Grace didn't have that much patience for this photo shoot :)  I snapped as many as i could before she turned into an angry elf and these are the 2 best ones.  I will post some more when I get them.

a few new pictures

For the past couple of weeks, we have been working on getting our back yard in.  Because of where we live, we are only putting in a small patch of grass and filling in the rest of the space with rock (and a small vegetable garden).  After we were all done hauling loads of rock from our driveway to the back, Jake started throwing small handfuls of rock into the wheelbarrow.  Thanks for the help little dude!

As we were cleaning up, Jake got a ride in the wheelbarrow and loved it.

Grace looked so cute today that I had to take a few pictures

Jake love to get his picture taken with his sister.  It can be a challenge to get a good shot where Jake isn't blinking and Grace isn't waving her arms too much.  Thank goodness for digital cameras...i just snap away and delete all the crummy ones.

1 month

I don't have much to say today, I just wanted to post a few new pictures. Our first month with Grace has been a good one. It has gone fast and it is amazing how big she is getting. As you will see in the pictures, she seems to be gaining all her weight in her cheeks! Jake is still doing great as a big brother. In fact, now he is concerned when he hears ANY baby cry...not just Gracie. Last week at Brookes hockey game there was another baby there who was Graces age. He was having a tough night and was crying quite a bit. Jake kept wanting to go tell the baby "it's ok baby". It was pretty sweet. Well, for not having much to say, i sure have typed alot! Enjoy your week!

I can't believe how fast time is flying by!  We are all doing good and enjoying the new addition to our family.  Jake loves to hold her and is always very concerned about her.  A friend made this onesie for Grace...in case you can't read it, it says "If you think I"m cute, you should see my big brother Jake!"  He is a great big brother to her.
Jake also likes to give Grace kisses on her head.
Here she is all dressed up for her first sunday at church.  She looked SO cute (I am a little biased though)
Here are Grandma and Grandpa Jackson with the kids.  They just left yesterday from spending a week with us.  It was so fun to have them around and they were so helpful.  It was nice to have the extra help around to either play with Jake or hold Grace.

Grace had her 2 week check-up on Tuesday and she is getting big!  She weighed in at 7 lbs. 12 oz. and was 21 1/2" long.  She had to have her heel pricked, and that did go over too well.  It was kindof funny because they showed a video about how to deal with babies who cry all the time.  The 4 other babies that were there were so quiet and happy...then there was Grace, screaming and inconsolable.  She was angry that I undressed her to be weighed and measured.

And here is Mr. Charming looking cute as ever.  He is really turning into quite the chatterbox, talking to random people we see at the store or when we are out and about.  He always cracks us up.

let's go fly a kite

So, this weekend we had some beautiful weather, but it was a bit windy.  Saturday Brooke got the idea to go buy some kites and take them out for a spin at the park.  Jake was pretty excited for the whole thing an once Brooke got the whole thing put together, Jake ran out with Brooke to launch the kite.  Brooke got the kite up in the air and after it whooshed around a couple times and took a nose dive into the ground, Jake ran in the opposite direction saying he was all done.
He watched Brooke from a safe distance at a nearby picnic table.  I think the kite had trouble handling the wind (it only cost $5, so our expectations weren't too high).

When we got home, Jake pulled out Brooke's motorcycle helmet and ran around the house like a little bobble head.

And last but not least, Grace is doing fabulous.  She had her first dr.'s appointment yesterday and she weighed in at 6lbs. 12 oz.  She is doing great and is a healthy little girl.
